Shipping Label Sheets Were Created To Solve a Problem.

The Problem:

Mail order companies, online retailers, and order fulfillment businesses strive to fill orders quickly and accurately. A problem all of those companies face is to picking orders quickly and correctly, packing them, and accurately labeling the cartons for shipment to customers.

If the information isn’t fully available to the picking job, and if the labels have to be separately printed, a potential for error exists. The subsequent match-up of packing slips, cartons, and shipping labels is one that can easily result in errors.

Further potential for error lies in the job of printing labels – whether continuous form, fan-fold, or roll: hoping they will feed correctly, won’t jam in the printer, sorting through them to find the right label, and then (hopefully) matching it up to the correct carton, envelope, or package. This process has always been, well, a real pain.

Companies needed a way to:

  • Make order fulfillment faster and simpler
  • Have the shipping label and packing list together until the package is ready for shipment

Sample Peel Out! Shipping Label Sheet

The solution:

Print the detailed order information, shipping address, and shipping label all on the same sheet.

Companies can use the same sheet for:

  • Pick list
  • Packing slip
  • Shipping label (FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL)

One sheet serves all purposes – increasing speed and accuracy – during picking, packing, and shipping.

The use of an adhesive-backed label also eliminates the extra step required by some companies: Taping paper sheet to a carton as a label. In these cases, the labor and handling effort are reduced significantly with Peel Out! ® Shipping Label Sheets.

In addition, using Peel Out! ® Shipping Label Sheets for a letter and address label combination is ideal when mailing overnight packages, samples, small parcels, and specimens.

How Burris Computer Forms ® Named “Peel Out! ® Shipping Label Sheets”?

In naming Burris’ new product line, Jerry Guzi, the founder of Burris Computer Forms ®, did what most good business people do – asked people who would know better for help.

He first visited The Roanoker Magazine and met with Mrs. Norma Lugar (now deceased), a long-time award-winning professional in writing and publishing. Mrs. Lugar recommended a creative advertising and graphic arts professional – Mrs. Connie Akers of Radford, Virginia. Jerry and Mrs. Lugar described the product, its uses, and the streamlining and accuracy advantages to Connie for her consideration and creative review.

Soon thereafter, Connie called Jerry from the road, and said it came to her in a creative a

h-ha moment they should be called “Peel Out! ® Shipping Label Sheets”. the word “Peel” to describe the action of peeling the labels and the phrase “Peel Out” for the speed of getting the orders out and on the road.

Perfect.

Connie went on to create the graphic image that depicted the use of the sheet, the label, and the impression of tire tracks hitting the road (peeling out!) that became the Burris tradem

ark image of Peel Out! ® Shipping Label Sheets in the industry. The term Peel Out

! describes both exactly what you do with the label (Peel it) and the effect it has on the entire order-fulfillment, shipping, or mailing process (as in Peel Out!).

Today, Peel Out! ® Shipping Label Sheets are used by everyone from small one-man-or-woman home shippers (home craft, eBay sellers), to medium online retailers and Amazon order fulfillment companies, to multiple-line huge order fulfillment companies, using the labels as “license plates” to guide parcels through highly automated order fulfillment processes.

In all cases, the benefits of Peel Out! ® Shipping Label Sheets are the same: order fulfillment is streamlined, efficiency is increased, and packages make their way to happy customers quickly and accurately.
